GGPoker is the biggest online poker room by traffic and one of the strongest choices for tournament players. Its schedule, WSOP connection and range of formats are difficult to match. Cash-game players also get plenty of action, although serious grinders should understand how PVI affects the effective value of Ocean Rewards rather than relying only on the advertised tier percentage.
The room changed substantially in 2026. Ocean Rewards replaced Fish Buffet on January 30, and GGPoker is now the main international online home for WSOP bracelets, Circuit events and satellites after NSUS Group acquired the WSOP brand.
Quick verdict: we like GGPoker most for tournaments, recreational cash play and players who want access to WSOP events from eligible markets. High-volume cash regulars can still find plenty to like here, but they should judge rakeback from their actual returns rather than the headline percentage.

What Changed in 2026
The biggest change is the rewards program. Ocean Rewards replaced Fish Buffet on January 30, 2026. The new system uses eight tiers from Fish to Shark, with published cashback rates from 16% to 80%, and tier status can be protected through the end of the following year. Existing Fish Buffet rewards were converted when the program changed.
The other major change is the WSOP relationship. NSUS Group completed its acquisition of the WSOP brand in 2024, and GGPoker now hosts the main international WSOP Online bracelet schedule, Circuit events and satellites to live WSOP stops. We covered the acquisition when the purchase was announced.
Ocean Rewards and Rakeback
How Tide Points and GEMs Work
Poker play earns 100 Tide Points for every $1 in rake generated. Tide Points determine your Ocean Rewards tier and reset on January 1 each year; once a tier is secured, GGPoker says it remains protected through the end of the following year. GEMs are a separate reward currency. The published redemption rate improves at larger balances, from $1 per 1,000 GEMs at the smallest level to $1 per 660 GEMs at the highest listed level.
| Tier | Tide Points | Cashback |
|---|---|---|
| Fish | 0 | 16% |
| Shrimp | 10,000 | 25% |
| Crab | 50,000 | 30% |
| Turtle | 200,000 | 40% |
| Octopus | 750,000 | 50% |
| Dolphin | 2,000,000 | 60% |
| Whale | 5,000,000 | 70% |
| Shark | 10,000,000 | 80% |
How PVI Affects Effective Rakeback
One detail matters more than the headline percentage: GGPoker uses a Player Value Index, or PVI, when crediting rewards. The formula is not public. In practice, the amount of rake credited toward rewards can differ from the raw rake a player actually generates, so two players at the same published tier do not necessarily receive the same effective rakeback. Recreational players generally fare better under the system than high-volume winning regulars.
That does not make the Ocean Rewards tiers meaningless, but the 16% to 80% figures should be read as the published program rates rather than a guaranteed effective return for every player. If rakeback is important to your bankroll, compare the rewards you actually receive with the rake you generate. The current public program rules are on GGPoker’s Ocean Rewards page.
Welcome Bonus in Brief
The two first-deposit options shown in the GGPoker cashier.
New players choose between two welcome offers. The matched bonus is 100% up to $600 and requires at least a $10 deposit. It releases $1 for every $5 paid in net rake or tournament fees, with 90 days to unlock the bonus. The alternative $100 rewards package requires at least $20 and currently includes $52 in tickets plus up to $47.50 in C$ from daily All-in or Fold targets.
Deposits made during the first 60 days can count toward the matched-bonus cap. Withdrawing before the offer is complete removes any remaining locked bonus cash or unawarded tickets.
Honeymoon for Newcomers can run alongside the welcome offer. It gives 30 daily missions worth up to $400, but you need to start the promotion within the first seven days. The largest rewards sit late in the challenge: missions 26 and 30 are worth $150 each.
This is the review page, so we keep the bonus summary short. The current terms, SMPBONUS field and step-by-step registration are on our GGPoker bonus code page.
Current GGPoker Promotions
GGPoker runs several promotions beyond the welcome package. As of September 4, 2026, the official promotion menu includes the Daily Freebie, a $100K Weekly Freeroll, the $18M September Giveaway, GGCare & GGCheers and jackpot promotions such as All-In Fortune and the All-In or Fold Jackpot.
These offers change more often than the core games or rewards program, so we treat them as current promotions rather than permanent features. Ocean Rewards remains the main ongoing loyalty program.
Games and Formats
The main format menu includes Hold’em, Omaha, Rush & Cash, Spin & Gold and All-in or Fold.
Cash Games
The regular cash-game lobby covers No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha and Short Deck from micro stakes upward. GGPoker also offers PLO-5 and PLO-6. Stud, Razz and traditional mixed games are not part of the main cash lobby.
GGPoker Formats
Rush & Cash is the fast-fold format. Spin & Gold is the jackpot sit-and-go game, while All-in or Fold reduces the decision tree to exactly what the name suggests. Flip & Go starts with an all-in flip stage before the tournament proper, and Mystery Bounty events reveal bounty values later in the event. These formats give the lobby more variety than a standard Hold’em-and-Omaha room.
Tournaments and WSOP
Tournaments are one of GGPoker’s strongest areas. GGMasters is the flagship weekly freezeout, and the 2026 GG World Festival carried a $300 million series guarantee. WSOP Online awarded 33 gold bracelets on GGPoker in 2026, while WSOP Express provides paths to live WSOP events. The 2024 WSOP Online Main Event generated a $29,193,500 prize pool, an online poker record at the time. You can track major live events alongside our tournament calendar.
Rake and Caps
Regular Hold’em and Omaha cash tables use 5% rake, but the cap changes by stake, table size and format. GGPoker publishes the current figures on each game page, so the same stake can have a different cap depending on how many players are seated. The examples below are the 5+ player caps from the current 6-max Hold’em and PLO tables we checked.
| Stake | 6-max NLH cap | PLO cap |
|---|---|---|
| $0.01/$0.02 | $0.20 | $0.06 |
| $0.05/$0.10 | $1 | $0.30 |
| $0.25/$0.50 | $4 | $1 |
| $1/$2 | $6 | $4 |
| $5/$10 | $10 | $15 |
GGPoker also has some unusual rake rules, including rake in certain preflop 3-bet pots. If you play serious cash-game volume, check the rules for the exact format and stake rather than assuming one cap applies across the room.
Traffic and Competition
Traffic is the simplest reason to consider GGPoker. The room describes itself as the world’s biggest poker room, and in practical terms the liquidity is obvious: cash games and tournaments run across time zones rather than depending on one short peak window.
From our experience, micro and low stakes are generally more recreational than the higher limits, especially during busy Asian and European hours. Mid and high stakes are naturally tougher. GGPoker also limits third-party tracking tools and supplies its own Smart HUD instead, which changes the environment compared with rooms where regulars can build large external databases on opponents.
Software and Mobile App
The GGPoker mobile app in portrait mode.
GGPoker builds many features directly into the client: Run It Three Times, straddles, rabbit hunting, tournament staking, insurance, Smart HUD and PokerCraft. PokerCraft stores hand histories and lets you filter and replay sessions, so basic review and EV analysis are available without a third-party tracker.
The Android and iOS apps carry the same account, cashier and main poker lobby. Multi-tabling is supported, although the practical number of tables depends on the device and screen size. Desktop remains the better choice for players running serious volume.
Registration and KYC
The referral-code field appears during registration. This is where SMPBONUS goes.
Registration starts with your email, country and account credentials. The referral-code field is part of the signup flow; our GGPoker bonus code page shows where to enter SMPBONUS.
GGPoker can require identity verification before withdrawals or earlier as part of an account review. The standard documents are a government-issued photo ID and proof of address; the help center says proof of address normally needs to have been issued within the previous 90 days. Using accurate account details from the start makes verification much simpler if it is requested.
Payment Methods
Deposits
GGPoker supports cards, e-wallets, crypto and local payment options, with the exact cashier depending on your country. The current global payment guide lists Visa/Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller and several other e-wallets, as well as Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and USDC. Most deposits are free; the current guide lists a 3% deposit charge for Skrill and Neteller.
Withdrawals
GGPoker uses a closed-loop withdrawal policy, so funds are returned to a method you previously used to deposit where possible. The current global guide lists a flat $1 fee on withdrawals. Minimums, maximums and processing times vary by method and region.
| Method | Min | Max | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard | $20 | $50,000 | Up to 3 business days |
| LuxonPay / Payz / Skrill / Neteller / AstroPay | $20 | $50,000 | Up to 24 hours |
| MuchBetter | $20 | $10,000 | Up to 24 hours |
| Bitcoin / Ethereum / USDT / USDC | $50 | $50,000 | 24 to 72 hours |
Those figures come from GGPoker’s current global guide; the cashier shown to your account is the final reference because payment methods and limits can differ by jurisdiction.
Customer Support
GGPoker provides account and cashier support through the client, email and its searchable help center. For ordinary rules and promotion questions, the help center is often enough; account-specific issues need the support team. In our experience, starting from the client is usually the quickest route when the question involves your account or cashier.
Is GGPoker Legit?
Yes. The global GGPoker site is operated by GG International Limited, an Isle of Man company, and is licensed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission. GGPoker also states that its platform holds ISO 27001 information-security certification and is independently tested by BMM Testlabs.
Separate regulated versions operate in some markets, so the exact licence and legal entity can differ depending on where you play. For the global site, the operator and Isle of Man licence are stated directly in GGPoker’s current terms and conditions.
GGPoker Allowed Countries
GGPoker does not publish one permanent country list because availability changes with local regulation. Its current help center tells players to use the country dropdown on the signup screen for the most up-to-date answer. If your country is not available there, the global client will not accept the registration.
The United States is not served by the global site. Some regulated markets use separate local versions of GGPoker, and some countries have additional signup requirements. This matters in Asia as well: GGPoker serves several markets in the region, but the correct version and availability depend on where you are physically located and registered.
For that reason, we would rather keep this section current than publish a long static list that can become wrong after a regulatory change. Check the signup dropdown before depositing or travelling specifically to play.
Pros and Cons
| Pros | Things to know |
|---|---|
| Very large tournament schedule and strong cash-game liquidity | PVI means the published Ocean Rewards tier is not a guaranteed effective rakeback rate |
| Direct access to WSOP Online bracelets, Circuit events and satellites | Some cash-game rake rules differ from more traditional rooms |
| Wide mix of standard games and GGPoker-specific formats | Third-party HUDs and trackers are not permitted |
| Ocean Rewards publishes rates up to 80% and protects earned tiers for a long period | Withdrawing early can remove remaining locked welcome-bonus value |
| PokerCraft and Smart HUD are built into the client | Availability depends on country and the global site does not serve the United States |
Verdict
GGPoker is easiest to recommend to tournament players. The combination of traffic, guarantees, WSOP access and game variety gives it an advantage that is hard to reproduce elsewhere. Recreational cash players also benefit from deep liquidity and a client with most of the useful tools already built in.
For serious cash-game grinders, the decision is more individual. The games are there and Ocean Rewards can be valuable, but PVI makes effective rakeback less transparent than the headline tier suggests. That is something to measure rather than guess.
For most eligible players who want a large poker room with constant action, GGPoker remains one of the first rooms we would consider in 2026.

FAQ
Is GGPoker legit?
Yes. The global site is operated by GG International Limited in the Isle of Man and licensed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission. GGPoker also states that it has ISO 27001 certification and independent testing from BMM Testlabs.
Is GGPoker rigged?
We found no evidence that GGPoker is rigged. Its platform and game systems are independently tested by BMM Testlabs, and GGPoker maintains security and anti-cheating policies for the network.
What is Ocean Rewards?
Ocean Rewards is GGPoker’s loyalty program, introduced on January 30, 2026 to replace Fish Buffet. It has eight tiers from Fish to Shark with published cashback rates from 16% to 80%. PVI can affect a player’s effective rakeback, so the headline tier is not a guaranteed return for every player.
What is the GGPoker welcome bonus?
New players choose between a 100% matched bonus up to $600 and a $100 rewards package. Our GGPoker bonus code page has the current terms and the SMPBONUS registration walkthrough.
Can I play GGPoker in Asia?
GGPoker is available in a number of Asian markets, but availability and the correct version depend on the country. GGPoker recommends checking the country dropdown on the signup screen for the current answer.
How do I complete KYC verification?
GGPoker can request a government-issued photo ID and proof of address. Proof of address generally needs to be recent and match the residential details on the account.
What payment methods does GGPoker accept?
The global cashier supports cards, e-wallets, cryptocurrencies and local payment methods. The exact options, limits and processing times depend on your country.
Is there a GGPoker rakeback deal?
Ocean Rewards is the main rakeback program. Its published tiers run from 16% to 80%, while PVI can change the effective value a particular player receives.
How much traffic does GGPoker have?
GGPoker is the largest online poker room by traffic and has enough liquidity for cash games and tournaments across time zones. Exact lobby counts change throughout the day, so we do not use one static player number as if it were permanent.
Does GGPoker allow HUDs?
Third-party HUDs and tracking tools are not permitted. GGPoker provides its own Smart HUD and PokerCraft tools inside the client.
Enter SMPBONUS in the referral-code field, then choose the welcome offer that suits you.
