Poker tournament series details

Crown Poker is delighted to announce the 2018 Melbourne Poker Championships beginning August 1. Featuring fifteen events across twelve days, the Melbourne Poker Championships schedule offers chances from just $200 to engrave your name on to a Championship trophy.

The series kicks off with Crown Poker’s traditional No Limit Holdem Accumulator, where just $300 ensures you are in the running to share a guaranteed prizepool of at least $100,000. Four Opening flights allow numerous chances to progress, as well as four chances to secure multiple bags of chips with all stacks combined on Day 2. Should your Opening Event endeavors fall short, the Event 2 – Hyper Turbo NLHE 10/10/10 and the Event 3 – 8-Game Mixed await on Saturday afternoon. The former offers a 10k start stack, 10-minute blind levels and just 10 seconds to act ensuring that only those with nerves of steel will prevail. Event 4 $550 8-Game will require eight different poker disciplines to be mastered to conquer this field.

Rest assured the Crown Poker Room will be bursting at the seams on Sunday 5th August as the $550 NLHE Deepstack kicks off at 1210pm. An enormous 25k start stack and 4-hour registration period should result in a prizepool well in excess of $200,000!!

Monday 6th August sees PLO Terminator – yes, that’s right, simply knock out a player and collect $100 – simple as that!

As the working week continues, Event 6 $550 6-Max and Event 7 $1100 6-Max will both test your skills on the short-handed game. Event 9 the following night ($550 Bounty) returns to the MPC schedule and will see a $500 target on one player per table.

Thursday 9th August sees the “big guns of Poker” hit town to navigate the $5,000 Challenge beginning at 210pm. Slated across both Thursday and Friday, expect our last remaining “High Roller” to pocket an enormous cash prize!!

Melbourne Poker Championships Main Event Flight 1 commences 6.10pm on Friday 10th August. If unsuccessful, Saturday’s Flight 2 offers a “repechage” format where another attempt can be made to secure your place on Day 2. With an expected total Main Event prizepool in excess of $500,000, you do not want to miss your chance at taking out this prestigious trophy!

Should your Main Event endeavours prove unsuccessful however, there are still numerous events to whet the appetite of any poker player. A Pot Limit Omaha HiLo and a “Shot Clock” Teams event appear Saturday and Sunday night respectively, while Event 12 NLHE Shot Clock Terminator runs alongside Main Event Day 2.

To round out the championship No Limit Holdem/Pot Limit Omaha will run concurrently with the Main Event Final Table. Event 15 – Last Chance Turbo No Limit Holdem (as the title suggests) will be your last chance to secure a Championship trophy – and at just $200 to enter, there’s sure to be a huge field of last minute “trophy hunters”.

Daily $90 Step 1 Satellites and direct-entry Mega satellites begin 21st July in the Crown Poker Room. Full details www.crownpoker.com.au
